General Motors is planning on building at least 60,000 Volt cars in 2012. GM CEO and Chairman Dan Akerson said that the manufacturing cost will be coming down as their full-scale production will start to ramp up. GM is currently playing catch-up to the Nissan LEAF vehicle, which has about 20,000 buyers already and is planning to build 250,000 electric-vehicles by 2016. GM believes that 10% of their sales will be from alternative fuel technologies in 2020. When GM starts to sell the Holden Volt next year, it will cost $50,000-$60,000. In related news, GM is currently in the midst of having the Volt battery redesigned as the result of a recall.

Ford Motor Company has decided to do something offbeat for the holidays by creating this sleigh concept for Santa Claus. Since Santa has to travel 200,237,360 km, why shouldn’t he try to be more green? The sleigh is based on the Ford Evos concept and it will save 214,670 tons of CO2. Santa would also save money from having to spend $191 million to feed his reindeer carrots.

The award was for “outstanding contributions to the industry in a non-performing capacity.” This is Apple’s second Grammy award as contributions to the music industry. Their work in recording earned them a Technical Grammy 10 years ago. [MacRumors]

Either you can visit his website and pay $5 or you can pirate it yourself. Louis C.K. fans are showing their support by paying for it as there is now $1 million in his PayPal account. It only took about 12 days to hit that number. C.K. is paying $250,000 in costs for the website, $250,000 to his staff as a bonus, and $280,000 will be given to charities such as Kiva, Charity:Water, Green Chimneys, The Pablove Foundation, and The Fistula Foundation.
