As Research In Motion’s market share continues to decline, the company is banking on the BlackBerry 10 platform. However BlackBerry 10′s release has been pushed back to late next year. Executives have been blaming the delay on the latest release of a new chip, but it turns out that the real reason for the delay is because RIM has been unable to get their core email and messenger services on a new platform.
Yesterday I wrote about this will be Microsoft’s last keynote presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012. Microsoft has had a 20-year working relationship with the Consumer Electronics Association and has given 14 keynotes. Microsoft decided to end the keynotes because they have realized that their product roadmaps aren’t exactly aligned with the CES in January. General Motors is recalling about 20,000 Cadillac SRX crossover vehicles in China and the U.S. because of transmission defects. General Motors’ Chinese joint venture Shanghai GM is recalling 9,862 of the SRX in China. GM is recalling 8,789 of the SRX in the U.S. The vehicles that were recalled are from between 2010 and 2011. The vehicles were built at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
