Google Poaches Apple Product Integrity Head Simon Prakash

Google has hired Apple senior director of product integrity Simon Prakash from Apple according to VentureBeat. Prakash is most likely working with Sergey Brin on a secret research project.

This is the first time that Google has hired away an employee at a senior position from Apple. This is happening at the middle of an investigation by the Department of Justice about Google and Apple allegedly working on a “no poach” agreement. The agreement was believed to be made between Pixar, Intel, Google, Apple, Lucasfilm, and Intuit.

Prakash had worked at Apple for over 8 years and was most recently at the product integrity position. He was responsible for product quality across all Apple products from iPhones to Macs. Currently Apple has the best reputation for product quality according to J.D. Power.

When Prakash started at Apple 8 years ago, he was a senior reliability manager. Before Apple, he worked as the director of engineering design validation at Cielo Communications. He had also worked as a reliability and FA manager at 3Com.
