Twitter Hit 10,000 Tweets Per Second In Last 3 Minutes Of Super Bowl


Twitter announced yesterday night that “In the final three minutes of the Super Bowl tonight, there were an average of 10,000 Tweets per second.” During major television events, Facebook and Twitter activity tends to skyrocket. This milestone definitely tops last year when there was a high of 4,064 Tweets per second during the Super Bowl. However the top Tweets per second event was from the premiere of the Japanese movie, “Castles In The Sky.” During the movie premiere, Twitter was seeing 25,088 Tweets per second. [Twitter]
