SpeechJammer Shuts People Up [VIDEO]

Japanese researchers have created a device that will “jam” up someone’s conversation from long range. When the device is “fired” at someone, it literally shuts them up. The device has a directional microphone and speaker. When used it records someone’s speech and then plays it back to them with a delay of 200 milliseconds. This appears to confuse people and gets them to be quiet. [Wired]
