Facebook Decides Maybe They Won’t Sue Companies For Asking Employee Passwords

This morning I wrote an article about how Facebook was planning on suing companies and universities that ask for the passwords of students and employees. It turns out that Facebook is now softening their stance the issue. Instead Facebook will now engage with policy makers and other stakeholders.

Originally Facebook privacy chief Erin Egan said “We’ll take action to protect the privacy and security of our users, whether by engaging policymakers or, where appropriate, by initiating legal action, including by shutting down applications that abuse their privileges.”
