Gmail has Google Talk built-in, but a lot of people don’t know that you can format the text when chatting:
a.) Putting an asterix around the words bolds them *bold*
b.) Putting underscores around the words italicizes them _italics_
c.) Putting hyphens around the words strikes out the words -strike-
