Colourlovers Acquires Forrst

Colourlovers is a creative community where people create and share colors, palettes, and patterns that has acquired another similar community called Forrst to create a large marketplace for the creative elite. Colourlovers has about 1.5 million registered users that have shared over 5 million colors, 2 million palettes, 2 million patterns, and 160,000 templates.

“It helps people discover their inner designers,” stated CEO Darius “Bubs” Monsef IV. “We want to give you the tools to go from inspiration to execution and eventually monetization.”

Colourlovers launched seven years ago and Forrst is a designer and developer community that is younger and smaller. However Forsst is more focused on professional and career development. Forsst was founded by Kyler Bragger as a side project when working on a wine social network with Gary Vaynerchuk. It started to take off so Vaynerchuk invested in the project along with 500Startups.
