Mark Zuckerberg set up a “Space Hackathon” for decorating the company’s new headquarters at 1 Hacker Way. A bunch of employees went to the top of one of the buildings and painted a QR code with tar paint that is visible from space. Scanning the QR code takes you to the FB QR Code Page.
“It started with a comment on Zuck’s post. I wrote, ‘Hack yeah! I’d like to paint a gigantic QR code somewhere so we can RickRoll online maps, or point people to our careers site, or send them to a ‘Clarissa Explains it All’ GeoCities Page'” stated Mark Pike. Pike and 5 others starts at 8PM the night of the Hackathon and by midnight, they had 30 people working on it.
