Around 1.5 Million Credit Cards Were Stolen From Global Payments

Late last month, I reported that Global Payments was hit with a data breach. Well it turns out that 1.5 million Visa and MasterCard accounts may have been compromised. The credit card numbers may have been exported, but no customer names, addresses, or social security numbers have been accessed. The original number was pegged at about 50,000 accounts. Global Payments believes that the situation is now contained and they are working with the Secret Service to investigate the incident. MasterCard and Visa sent a notice to customers who may have been affected.
