Detroit Venture Partners Launches ValleyToDetroit Website
Last week it was announced that Yahoo! was going to lay off 2,000 people. Many of these engineers should be able to fill in the openings of other Silicon Valley job openings, but for those of you looking for a real change, you may want to consider Detroit. Quicken Loans sister company Detroit Venture Partners set up a website called ValleyToDetroit.com to encourage people to move from the Bay Area to the Motor City.
Quicken Loans CEO Bill Emerson noted that “not only does Detroit make for a great place to start or grow a business, but it’s also a great option for those who want to be on the ground-floor of rebuilding and reinventing a great American city.”
The Detroit Venture Partners office is based in the M@dison Building in downtown Detroit. The building serves as a tech incubator that has a great rooftop bar facing the Detroit Tigers Stadium. I have been there and I can honestly say that it has a great startup vibe.@amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
