SAP Acquires Mobile App Enterprise Platform Syclo
SAP has acquired mobile platform company Syclo, a company that builds and deploys mobile apps on a number of devices. Syclo helps companies extend their applications to mobile devices and they support integrations with IBM, Oracle, and SAP. SAP and Syclo have been partners since 2009.
Syclo SMART Mobile Suite for SAP systems has pre-built and pre-integrated products to build and maintain these applications. Syclo has over 600 customers across 39 countries in the oil/gas, life sciences, and manufacturing industries industries. Syclo will be integrated into SAP’s mobile platform and SAP Afari for mobile device management and security.

The acquisition is the latest step by SAP in its strategy to drive growth and innovation in core applications, analytics, enterprise mobility, cloud and database and technology. It will also accelerate the adoption and deployment of new mobile asset management and field service solutions on Sybase Unwired Platform, part of the SAP mobile platform and the company’s infrastructure for developing and managing mobile apps.
