EMC Corporation Acquires XtremIO

EMC Corporation has acquired Israeli startup company XtremIO. The price was rumored to be at around $430 million, but EMC has not disclosed anything. The deal was made entirely in cash. XtremIO is known for making storage arrays based on flash memory chips. XtremIO is a direct competitor of Violin Memory, a Silicon Valley based company that raised $80 million in Series D funding and is preparing for an IPO later this year.
