Apple Likely Getting Rid Of Google Maps On iOS 6

Apple Inc. is likely going to get rid of Google Maps on iOS 6. Instead they will have 3D mapping software of their own according to sources with 9to5Mac. Apple has been using Google Maps on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch since 2007. While Google Maps is one of the most important applications on the devices, it did need quite a bit of improvement as the default GPS. For example the app does not support detours if you get stuck in traffic. Apple acquired a 3D mapping company called C3 Technologies in October 2011. C3 integrates 3D imaging with 2D maps.
