Steve Jobs Got In Trouble A Lot In Elementary School
[Steve Jobs' childhood home at 2066 Crist Drive in Los Altos, California]
Before Steve Jobs started elementary school, his mother taught him how to read. This made him bored in the first few years so he occupied himself by getting into trouble. Because of his nature and his nurture, he was resistant to authority.
While in school at Monta Loma Elementary, he played pranks with his friend Rick Ferrentino. For example, they made posters like “Bring Your Pets To School Day.” The school would immediately be filled with dogs chasing cats.
Another prank they did was switching the locks on people’s bikes. Nobody could get their bikes out when it was time to go home.
One of the most dangerous pranks Steve Jobs did was setting off an explosive device under his teacher’s chair. Mrs. Thurman had a nervous twitch after that. Jobs was sent home several times for those pranks. Ferrentino and Jobs were put into separate classes in fourth grade because of the pranks.
