Windows Phone Marketplace Hits Over 100,000 Apps

The Microsoft Windows Phone Marketplace has hit over 100,000 apps. As a comparison, iOS has around 600,000 apps and Google Play has around 500,000 apps. It took Windows Phone 20 months to hit 100,000 apps. It took iOS 16 months to hit 100,000 and it took Android 24 months to hit 100,000. Even though the Windows Phone Marketplace has a large number of apps, they only account for 2% of total app downloads in 2012 according to ABI Research.
