Facebook Is Still Not The Top Social Network in China and Russia

Social media strategist Vincenzo Cosenza creates a map twice a year called “World Map of Social Networks.” The map shows what the most popular social network is in 137 countries. He uses a combination of data from Alexa and Google Trends. The June 2012 edition shows that Facebook is now number one in 126 out of 137 countries. Europe is the largest continent on Facebook with 232 million users and North America has 222 million. Asia has 219 million users. However Facebook still remains below other social networks in Russia, China, Vietnam, Iran, and Latvia.

The top social networks in those countries are:
– Russia (VKontakte and Odnoklassniki)
– China (QZone)
– Vietnam (Zing)
– Iran (Cloob)
– Latvia (Drauglem)
