Silicon Valley Bank Opens Branch In London

Silicon Valley Bank has opened a branch in London. The Bank will be targeting companies in the technology and life sciences industry there. They will be making loans between £300,000 and £30 million for tech companies there. Some of their existing clients in the U.K. include Shazam and The Foundry. Silicon Valley Bank has made $7 billion in loans to clients in the U.S. that include Cisco, Mozilla, and Pinterest. They are a bank for investors like Sequoia Capital, Silver Lake, and New Enterprise Associates. In the U.K., Silicon Valley Bank will work with Index Ventures and Balderton Capital.
“We have seen a marked shift in recent years in our chosen niche industries’ activity within the UK,” stated Silicon Valley head of UK, Israel, and India head Phil Cox. The branch of SVB opening in London will be located at 41 Lothbury.
