Skype For Mac 5.8 Launches For Mac

Skype 5.8 has arrived for Mountain Lion today. Skype 5.8 has a full-screen user interface. Krishna Panicker of Skype said “You’ve been very vocal with your thoughts about the revamped full-screen user interface … and we’ve been listening intently.” The app has a slim contact list and you can put the contact list anywhere on the screen that you want.

When someone calls you from an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone using a native Skype app, Skype for Mac can detect the orientation of the screen on the mobile device and re-orient the video call on the Mac. Skype Premium subscribers will notice that Screen Sharing has been updated, which now has the ability to display live video along with your photos. Skype said that an upcoming update will add the ability to open chats in separate windows.
