Pinterest To Refer Most Social Traffic To E-Commerce Websites By The End Of The Year
According to a report, Pinterest will be the top social traffic source for e-commerce websites by the end of the year by beating Facebook and Twitter. Monetate put together the report about Pinterest. Monetate is known for helping their clients like Best Buy, Urban Outfitters, and OfficeMax to maximize their marketing strategies.
Pinterest is a service where users can share virtual collages and people can showcase products by posting them or “re-pinning” them from your friends. Last month Pinterest raised $100 million in a round of funding led by Rakuten.
Because of the traffic that Pinterest drives to their websites, many online retailers have integrated the Pinterest button into their product pages. Even Amazon.com has integrated the Pinterest button for every product. Pinterest generates a sale 0.43% of the time, e-mail converts 3.91%, and Google at 2.44%. The best part is that Pinterest traffic is free, unless they are paid affiliate commissions.
“The true cost of doing that is nominal to nothing, and you have inbound traffic at little to no cost. It’s fantastic,” said Monetate chief marketing officer Kurt Heinemann. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry. You can follow me at @amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
