Facebook has confirmed the acquisition of Face.com. Although we do not know the final price of the acquisition, it is expected to be for around $80 to $100 million. Face.com is known for building technology that does facial recognition. Face.com specializes on mobile facial recognition, which is something Facebook will most likely integrate into updates of their future mobile app.

Many mobile photos are uploaded to Facebook without being tagged and when people get tagged, they immediately log in to see what was posted. This helps people stay engaged in Facebook.

“We love you guys, and the plan is to continue to support our developer community,” said Face.com in a blog post. Facebook is aggressively pushing for growth in the mobile space. They acquired mobile photo filtering app company Instagram for $1 billion.
