RUMOR: First Set Of Microsoft Surfaces Will Be WiFi
When the Microsoft Surface goes for sale, it will not be able to connect to mobile phone networks. Instead buyers will have to connect the tablet to their WiFi connections according to sources with Bloomberg. Microsoft’s decision to make them WiFi only for now will help the company keep the cost of the device down.
“The way that Microsoft is positioning this product –that it’s highly mobile but also has the functionality of a notebook — that customer might be more interested in working from any location and not being bound by Wi-Fi,” stated Creative Strategies analyst Ben Bajarin.
