T-Mobile USA CEO Philipp Humm Resigns
T-Mobile USA CEO Philipp Humm has resigned and T-Mobile USA COO Jim Alling will become the interim CEO until a replacement is found. Humm is going to pursue a career that is outside of Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile USA. Humm will be rejoining his family since they stayed back in Europe after Humm took the job two years ago.
“Philipp Humm has given the company some important initiatives over the past years: Under his leadership the cost situation at T-Mobile USA has vastly improved and he led the company during a difficult phase regarding the planned merger with AT&T,” stated Deutsche Telekom’s Rene Obermann.
Before becoming CEO of T-Mobile USA, Humm was the Chief Regional Officer and a member of Executive Committee of T-Mobile International. He studied business in Germany and at the University of Michigan. Humm worked at Procter & Gamble, McKinsey in Germany and in L.A. Between 2000-2002, he worked as an executive at Amazon.com where he worked as a Managing Director of Amazon Germany and France. This article was written by Amit Chowdhry.
