Amazon has announced a new service called Amazon GameCircle.  GameCircle is a set of services that are designed to making gaming on Amazon devices like the Kindle Fire more interactive.  GameCircle has achievements, leaderboards, and sync APIs.  To sign up for access to GameCircle, go to

Achievements include trophies, badges, awards, etc. Players can receive in-game messages and keep track of awards in real-time. You can also pause and view achievements and find out what badges are still needed. GameCircle leaderboards show score comparison information and percentile ranking, which allows players to check their standings against the top players. Sync can automatically save a player’s in-game progress to the cloud and lets them pick up where they left off.

“Our goal is to give developers great tools to quickly and easily reach new customers and keep them engaged. That’s why we’re creating easy-to-integrate APIs for features like leaderboards, achievements and sync. We also introduced In-App Purchasing API in April, allowing developers to offer a seamless 1-Click purchasing experience within their apps and games, and we’re just getting started,” stated Amazon VP of Apps, Games, and Services at Amazon Paul Ryder. “GameCircle gives developers the right tools to build an immersive, more entertaining experience on Kindle Fire, which will ultimately help developers grow their business.”

Imangi Studios is part of Amazon GameCircle’s beta program.  Imangi is known for developing the game Temple Run.  “We are thrilled to be part of Amazon’s GameCircle with Temple Run,” stated Keith Shepherd, Co-founder of Imangi Studios. “The new service is a great way to keep our fans engaged by offering them more opportunities to play the game, and an intuitive platform to connect with new players.”
