BSkyB is launching a new pay-as-you-go Internet TV service called Now TV. At a launch event in London, Sky announced that Now TV will be going live on Tuesday July 17th for Windows PCs, Macs, and Android mobile devices. Later this month Now TV will be available on iOS followed by Xbox, PS3, and Roku later this year. BSkyB first announced Now TV at The Guardian Media Summit this past March.

“Having 2 brands will allow us to meet the needs of two distinct market segments,” stated BSkyB CEO Jeremy Darroch. “It will be a flexible, more spontaneous offering. It will be powered by Sky, offering the best, exclusive content all from a provider they can trust. Any notion that Sky is just a satellite broadcaster should be out the window now.”

When launching Now TV will be limited to movies only, which will range between 99p and £3.99.  There will also be a£15 pay-monthly Sky Movies Pass.  Some of the DVD titles available at launch will include We Bought A Zoo, This Means War, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.  Later on the service will also offer live sports events like English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier, test cricket, rugby, tennis, golf, etc.
