Yahoo! Japan’s IDC Frontier Invests $6.1 Million In Cloud Storage Company Basho

Yahoo! Japan subsidiary IDC Frontier has put $6.1 million into Basho Technologies, which is a U.S.-based data and cloud-storage technology company. They plan to use Basho in their own cloud-computing platform. IDC Frontier will be using Basho’s riak software in their cloud platform and will enable Basho to roll out their technology to more customers in Japan. Yahoo! Japan is a joint venture between Yahoo! Inc. and Softbank Corporation. Together these companies own 35% in Yahoo! Japan.
