Microsoft Hires Mark Penn As Corporate VP For Strategic and Special Projects
Microsoft Corporation has hired Mark Penn as their corporate VP for strategic and special projects. He will be reporting to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Penn was previously the worldwide CEO of PR firm Burson-Marsteller and CEO of the polling firm Penn Schoen Berland LLC. Penn will be focusing on key consumer initiatives.
“Mark has an incredible background in research, demographics, marketing and positioning and a proven history in developing unique insights that drive success,” said Ballmer. “With a strong set of products and an exciting pipeline for the next year, Mark’s experience and out-of-the-box thinking will help us more effectively reach new consumers and grow market share.”
Donald Baer was promoted to the worldwide CEO of Burson-Marsteller.
