Microsoft Posts First Quarterly Loss Ever Due To aQuantive Write-Off

Microsoft has reported their quarterly earnings for Q4 2012. In this quarter, Microsoft reported their first ever quarterly loss of $0.06 per share with sales of $18.06 billion. The loss was largely due to a $6.2 billion charge of the aQuantive acquisition. Excluding one-time charges, Microsoft still managed to pull off a record quarter by pulling in a profit of $0.73 per share even though Wall Street expected $0.62.
