Microsoft has been relatively quiet about when Windows Phone 8 will be released.  Microsoft showcased the upcoming operating system at the Windows Phone Summit in late June, but they did not say when it would be available.  “This fall” is when we are expected to see it.  However Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet suggested that Windows Phone 8 Release-To-Manufacturing will start in September and will be on the shelves in November, just in time for the holiday season.  Foley suggested this rumor based on a source with Microsoft.
