Thomson Reuters Acquires Brand Protection Company MarkMonitor
Thomson Reuters has acquired brand protection company MarkMonitor for an undisclosed amount of money. MarkMonitor provides online protection for top brands on the Internet like Appel.com, Facebook.com, Microsoft.com, Google.com, Wikipedia.org, and Zynga.com.
All of these websites are MarkMonitor-protected when you look them up on a WHOIS website. MarkMonitor prevents and actively goes after online threats to protect the brand’s revenue and reputation including counterfeit sales, domain squatting, Internet piracy, and rogue websites.
MarkMonitor is based in San Francisco, California and it will be rolled into Thomson Reuters’ intellectual property.
