Apple Proves To Court That They Did Not Copy From Sony

Apple "Purple"

Recently in court, Samsung tried to suggest that Apple used a Sony-inspired design process to build the iPhone.  However, Apple revealed documents of an iPhone prototype code-named “Purple.”  The concept device dates back to August 2005, which was months before the Jony Ive prototype was built.  Shin Nishibori’s Sony-style phones were a side project and Purple had remained free of the alleged Sony inspirations.  Judge Lucy Koh issued an order that Samsung will not be permitted to showcase evidence during the trial with Sony designs for the iPhone.
