Ross Levinsohn Leaves Yahoo!

Ross Levinsohn
Yahoo! executive Ross Levinsohn has stepped down from the company.  Levinsohn was the interim CEO after Scott Thompson resigned over resume issues.  Levinsohn was instrumental in negotiating with Facebook over patents.  Levinsohn will be receiving millions in severance agreements following his resignation.

“Ross has done a terrific job during his time at Yahoo!,” said Yahoo. “We wish him all the best.”  Levinsohn ran the media and advertising sales divisions at Yahoo! before becoming interim CEO.  Levinsohn and new Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer held talks about his exit for several days leading up to his resignation.

“During May and June, Ross stepped into an incredibly tough role as interim CEO and did a terrific job — he really helped keep the company moving, closed important deals, and assembled a very talented team,” stated Mayer. “I am grateful to Ross for his leadership and work throughout his tenure at Yahoo.”
