Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Joins Instagram

Ali Khamenei, the Grand Ayatollah of Iran, has joined Instagram last week and has posted four photos thus far under the username khamenei_ir.  Khamenei’s four photos Khamenei has been the leader of the country since 1989.  Social media advocates believe that this is hypocritical because Iran has major restrictions on Internet use.  Before a mass protest that took place three years ago, Internet in the whole country was blacked-out as pushed by the government.
