Temple Run Hits 100 Million Downloads
Temple Run is a mobile game that was developed by Keith Shepherd, Natalia Luckyanova, and Kiril Tchangov. The game has just hit their one year milestone with 100 million downloads. The popular free game was designed by Imangi Studios based in Raleigh, North Carolina. They hit 68 million iOS downloads and 32 million Android downloads. Across those downloaders, the game has been played over 10 billion times.
“We never imagined that the game we were making and loved would be so well received around the world. The last year has been incredible for us, and we are grateful to fans of the game. We hope to be able to provide them with more entertainment from the brand for years to come,” said Shepherd.
The premise of the game is that you are a character that is running through a path while being chased by monsters. They are coming after you because an idol has been stolen. Imangi signed a deal with Disney Studios to develop a second game called “Temple Run: Brave” to complement the new Disney Pixar animated film.
