Jim Heckman, the SVP of Strategy and Emerging Businesses at Yahoo!, has stepped down from the company. After Yahoo! hired Marissa Mayer as the CEO, some major management shake-ups were expected including the departure of Ross Levinsohn. Heckman was close to Levinsohn at the company. Heckman joined Yahoo! after the company acquired 5to1 in May 2011. Heckman worked closely with Levinsohn on ad and media deals such as working out an ad-selling deal with Google, AOL, and Microsoft. Heckman was working on outsourcing Yahoo!’s advertising technology operations to companies like Google.
