Truth Campaign Working With YOMYOMF Network On “Internet Icon”

Truth, the nation’s biggest youth smoking prevention campaign is teaming up with the YouTube channel You Offend Me You Offend My Family (YOMYOMF) Network.  YOMYOMF is comprised of Justin Lin (director of the Fast and Furious movies) and YouTube stars Ryan Higa, Kevin Wu, and Chester See.

Programming on YOMYOMF has both scripted and reality shows.  In the video below, you will see one of the best YouTube clips that YOMYOMF put together a couple of months ago with over 2.3 million views.  YOMYOMF appears to be one of the channels that Google put money into as part of the original deals that YouTube is focusing on.

On August 14th, the winner of Internet Icon will be announced.  Icon contestants are competing in a series of challenges that focuses on their creativity such as filmmaking skills in an effort to become the next Internet star. Chester See is hosting the show.  Ryan Higa and actress Christine Lakin (Al Lambert from Step by Step) will judge the contestants.  Internet Icon will host an “orange carpet” sponsored by the truth campaign and before Internet Icon is aired, theatergoers will see the teaser “Honey” for truth’s next mobile game called Flavor Monsters.  

“YOMYOMF and truth are providing innovative content that connects with youth who are the drivers behind the success of online content and youth tobacco prevention,” stated Deepa Jeeva, Head of Production at the YOMYOMF Network.
