Pradeep Manukonda Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Mark Zuckerberg In India
The first time I wrote about Pradeep Manukonda in February 2011, it was because Mark Zuckerberg filed a restraining order against him. Zuckerberg filed legal papers saying that Manukonda tried to follow, surveil, and contact him using language that had threatened his personal safety.
Manukonda allegedly showed up to Facebook’s headquarters to find Mark Zuckerberg to ask for financial assistance. A judge ordered Manukonda to stay at least 300 yards away from Mark Zuckerberg, his sister Randi Zuckerberg, and his wife Priscilla.
TMZ did an interview with Manukonda and he revealed that he was a peaceful guy that was dealing with personal problems and just wanted Zuckerberg’s advice.
After the restraining order was filed, Manukonda’s image was tarnished. NMA even gave him the animation treatment. Now Manukonda is suing Mark Zuckerberg for defamation.
Essentially Manukonda started working at a company called Pillar Data System in San Jose. He approached Zuckerberg to tell him about his services and had applied to work at Facebook as a Securty Analyst.
Manukonda created a website called www.myfacebooksocialnetwork.com and supposedly a Facebook employee went to Manukonda’s house and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not agree to Facebook’s terms such as branding him as a hacker and stalker. It appears that Manukonda is seeking the equivalent of $5,715,520 based on loss of salary due to his tarnished image, future earnings losses, future increments, “mental agony,” and loss from website business in Indian rupees since he lives back in India now. The case has been filed in the court of District Sessions Judge Ranga Reddy District Court at LB Nagar Hyderabad, India 500074.
