Ford Motor Company has sold their 350 millionth vehicle.  The 350 millionth vehicle rolled off the line at Ford’s global manufacturing facility located in Rayong, Thailand.  “Producing 350 million vehicles is equivalent to producing one vehicle every 10 seconds for our 109-year history. If placed end to end, the vehicles would stretch to the moon and back – twice,” stated Ford EVP of global manufacturing John Fleming.

“Producing this vehicle in Thailand also is significant. It underscores the power of our One Ford plan to deliver profitable growth with great products built in ultra-flexible and efficient facilities everywhere around the world.”  The Ford Focus has become the best selling single car nameplate in the world for the first six months of 2012 according to IHS Automotive.  Ford sold 489,616 units of the Focus in the first half of this year.  The Toyota Corolla is the second best selling single car nameplate at 462,187.
