Former First Lady Of Germany Bettina Wulff Suing Google For Auto-Suggest

Bettina Wulff is the wife of former German president Christian Wulff has filed a lawsuit against Google to remove autocomplete suggestions that she is claiming as libel.  Some of the autocomplete suggestions that pop-up when searching for Bettina includes the words “escort,” “prostituierte” (prostitute), and “rotlicht” (red light).  The results are largely due to rumors about Wulff’s life before her marriage.

The lawsuit was filed in the Hamburg Regional Court.  Back in January, Google was fined $65,000 by a French court and was forced to remove results linking to the the Lyonnaise de Garantie bank.  Google was suggesting the words “con man” and “crook” with Lyonnaise.
