Google Play and YouTube Now Has Titles From Fox
Google has announced today that they will now be offering 600 titles from 20th Centuy Fox on Google Play and YouTube as part of Fox’s new Digital HD initiative. “Prometheus” is Fox’s first major film to be made available under the new program, which is three weeks ahead of the Blu-ray, DVD, and video-on-demand (VOD) release. On Google Play and YouTube, the “Family Guy,” “Glee,” “Modern Family,” and “New Girls” TV series will be coming soon.
The movies that will be on Google Play and YouTube that are coming soon include “X-Men,” “Ice Age,” and “Black Swan,” said Google manager of TV and film content partnerships Jonathan Zepp. Fox has deals in place with Amazon.com, iTunes, and Wal-Mart Vudu.
“These new titles will be available first in the U.S., and we’ll be bringing them to more countries soon,” said Zepp. “We’re now working with all six of the major film studios and many independent studios to bring you the best new releases and your favorite classics to rent or own.”
