Four Teams Start Supporting MLB Passbook
MLB Advanced Media has announced that four teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) have started supporting ticketing using Passbook on iOS 6. Passbook is a new digital ticketing application built into the new mobile operating system that lets you store tickets for events, airlines, and loyalty programs.
The MLB said that the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox will start offering digital tickets right away and the service will be used for the rest of the regular-season home dates in 2012.
The MLB said that Passbook lets fans receive and store digital tickets after completing a purchase through MLB.com. The tickets are also available digitally for mobile web purchases. Digital tickets are also offered on purchaes using the MLB.com At Bat or At The Ballpark mobile applications.
