WATCH: Google Driverless Cars and Google Glasses To Play A Role In Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson Movie “The Internship”

The duo from The Wedding Crashers movie are teaming up again and this time they are working at Google instead of crashing at weddings.  Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn will be starring in a movie called “The Internship,” which is about two 40-somethings working at Google.  Google is working closely with the film producers to build scenes around the Google campus in Mountain View, California.

Google’s marketing team also consulted with 20th Century Fox to build “Google office” sets at the Georgia Tech campus.  Some external scenes were filmed in Mountain View this week.  Google chairman Eric Schmidt interviewed Vaughn about the film and Google Android’s Hugo Barra is supposedly an extra on the film.  Google co-founder Sergey Brin hosted part of the crew for his dinner at home.  We will also see Google Glasses and Google’s driverless cars play a role in the movie.

Vaughn wrote the first draft of the screenplay about an unspecified tech company and first and then later made it explicitly about Google after talking with people at the company.

“We’re excited that Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson chose the Google campus as a backdrop for their first film together since ‘Wedding Crashers.’ We’re sure they’ll have a humorous take on life in Silicon Valley and look forward to seeing the result,” said Google.

Check out the video interview below from Bloomberg about the movie:
