eBay Launches Setify, A Pinterest-Like Tool To Share A Collection Of Goods

New eBay Logo
eBay has launched a new tool called Setify.  Setify is a tool that lets people create a collection of items on eBay and other sources.  Setify is currently in private beta, but you can request for an invitation.  Setify allows people to track the items that they already own and share the collections of items that they own.  They can also build wish lists.  eBay plans to add mobile apps on iOS and Android as well.  Currently Setify is limited to comic book and coin collections.  Users can upload photos from their own collections and can create wish lists of items already on eBay.  eBay is using this as a tool for collectors because they have rare items and they tend to look for them on eBay.  Check out a video demo below:

ShelfLife (www.shelflife.net) has been up an running for over a year with significantly deeper functionality for collectors to manager their collections, a full marketplace that auto-matches buyers and sellers and a ton of great tools. This isn’t innovation, it’s imitation.

Setify is too late and too lame. I’ve been using ShelfLife.net for months, and love it. ShelfLife has way more categories, a tighter community, and detailed info about all of the products and their parts.
