REPORT: Samsung Galaxy S III Is Vulnerable To Getting Hacked

At a security conference in South America, there was a Berlin, Germany based researcher that revealed that the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy S II smartphones are vulnerable to being hacked.  Both can remotely wiped by a code embedded in a website.  Ravi Borgaonkar found out hat the Galaxy’s “service loading” feature is a method for communicating with application servers.  This can be exploited by using one line of code in a website’s HTML. If the attack is successful, the code can revert a phone back to its factory settings and the phone owner cannot do anything about it.  Check out Borgaonkar in action in the video below:
