IBM Acquires Butterfly Software

IBM has acquired data analysis and migration software company Butterfly Software.  Butterfly is based in Maidenhead, England and the financial terms were undisclosed.  Butterfly is able to migrate data center infrastructures.  The company focuses on lowering the costs and risk of maintaining legacy storage, backup, and recovery environment.  Butterfly helps companies consolidate enterprise data and analyze it for strategic purposes.  Last month IBM acquired Kenexa for $1.3 billion.  This acquisition follows IBM’ acquisition of Kenexa for $1.3 billion in cash last month.  IBM is aiming to generate $16 billion from business analytics by 2015.
