Amazon.com has created a service for environmentally-conscious consumers called Vine.com.  Vine.com is a shopping website that has organic and environmentally-friendly products.  The website sells items like organic groceries and all-natural skin care lotions. It is like an electronic version of Whole Foods.  Items that sell on Vine.com must have the ability to remove toxins, must be natural and organic, and must be powered by renewable energy.

Vine “is a site that is not necessarily about saving the planet, though we feel the products are useful in that regard,” stated Vine.com representative Josh Dorfman.  He added that “if you care about raising safe and healthy kids, and you feel green products without chemicals can help along the way, we’ve figured out ways to help you do that.”

Vine.com is run by Quidsi, a company that Amazon acquired in 2010.  Quidsi also runs Diapers.com, YoYo.com, and Wag.com.  Certain Vine.com customers will have the option to set up free two-day shipping.
