Yahoo! Partners With Media.Net To Create Contextual Ads Program
Yahoo! has partnered with Media.net to create a new product within Yahoo! Bing Network Contextual Ads. Media.net has been aggressively seeking publisher companies to partner with to place advertisements on (including Pulse2). This partnership complements Yahoo! and Microsoft’s Search Alliance, which dates back to around 2009.
The partnership between Yahoo! and Microsoft has not done terribly well though. Media.net’s partnership with Yahoo! allows them to reach more customers with existing tools. “Teaming up with Yahoo! allows us to offer web publishers with a solution that generates additional revenue for them and provides customization, control and flexibility that they would like,” stated Media.net CEO Divyank Turakhia.
Essentially this is Yahoo!’s way of competing with Google’s beastly AdSense service. Yahoo! is run by former Google executive Marissa Mayer.
