Sprint’s Launches StarStar Me Service That Lets You Change Your Phone Number To A Username

Sprint is launching a new service called StarStar Me.  This service lets you replace your phone number with a username.  This username would be **YourNameHere.  StarStar Me lets you use your name, nickname, or any other word that you want to use.  So if I had Sprint and used the service, you could call me at **Amit.

The StarStar Me service lets you also set up an automatic custom text responses to the phone calls that you do not answer.  Sprint also makes it possible to have “unique ways to share links to their blog, website, or social media accounts,” but it is unknown how this will work.  Sprint’s VP of Product and Technology development Kevin McGinnis said:

Sprint customers will be the first people to get StarStar Me. We expect this service to be especially popular with professionals, students and family customers, who can tailor its use to their individual preferences, lifestyles and interests with a few simple clicks.

Sprint will be the first U.S. mobile carrier company to offer StarStar Me to customers.  Sprint released an Android app that lets the user control their StarStar Me account.  An iOS version of the app is currently being worked on.  The app lets you block numbers, customize a reply text message, and handle social media contact info.

If you are a Sprint customer and are interested in the service, dial **63 on your device.  You can also visit this website.  Sprint StarStar Me costs $2.99 per month and users can have up to two StarStar Me accounts per number.
