Twitter Acquires Video Sharing Company Vine

Twitter has acquired a New York based video sharing company called Vine for an undisclosed amount according to AllThingsD.  This is an indication that Twitter may create their own video sharing service.  Vine had no actually launched publicly yet.  This is how Vine describes themselves:

“Vine is the best way to capture and share video on your iPhone. No editing. No rendering. No post-production. Video has never been this fun.”

Vine lets users create 6-second video clips and the clips loop.  Some of Vine’s investors include RRE and High Line Venture Partners.
