SoftBank In Talks To Buy Out Sprint

According to Nikkei, SoftBank is currently in talks to buy out two-thirds of Sprint Nextel’s stock.  SoftBank is the third largest wireless carrier in Japan and they would spend around 1.5 trillion yen ($19.2 billion).  SoftBank recently acquired the fourth largest wireless carrier in Japan, E-Mobile, less than 2 weeks ago.  SoftBank plans to use the acquisition to help expand their global business presence and to use the economies of scale to lower the price that they pay for devices.  [TheVerge]
